Text messages

How texting works with After Hours.

After Hours by Odile is a product of OdileUSA L.L.C., Florida. It answers the phone for local service businesses. Two kinds of text message leave our system, both from a number we own, and this page is the public description of how a person comes to receive each one.

1. If you own a business that uses After Hours

You give us your mobile number on the sign-up form at odilelabs.com/signup, and you tick a box, which is not ticked for you, that says:

Text my mobile when someone calls.
What you will get: a text with the caller's name, number and what they need, each time your receptionist takes a call or books an appointment. No marketing, ever.
Message frequency follows your call volume, typically a few messages a day. Message and data rates may apply.
Reply STOP to any message to stop them, HELP for help. Consent is not required to use After Hours: leave the box unticked and your messages stay in the console only.

Leaving the box unticked still creates your account. It simply means we never text you, and you read your messages in the owner console instead. Consent is never a condition of buying anything from us.

2. If you called a business and hung up

When you dial a business that uses After Hours and end the call without leaving a message, you get one text, from the number you just called, that reads:

Sorry we missed your call to [the business]. Reply with a good time and number and we'll call you back. Reply STOP to opt out.

Your number comes from the call you placed yourself. We never text a number that has not called one of these businesses, and we never buy, rent or upload lists. It is one message for one missed call, it is not repeated, and there is no follow-up unless you reply.

Stopping them

Reply STOP to any message and that number stops receiving them immediately. Reply HELP and you get our contact details. You can also write to hello@odilelabs.com and we will remove your number.

Costs and frequency

We do not charge for messages. Message and data rates may apply from your own carrier. Frequency depends entirely on call volume: an owner with a busy line may get several a day, a caller gets one per missed call.

What we never do

Mobile phone numbers and consent to receive text messages are never shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes, and are never sold. Numbers are passed only to the telecommunications provider that carries the message for us.
