Utilisation & statement-date tracker
Two numbers decide most of what your score does month to month: how much of your limit you are using, and when the lender takes the photograph. This works out both. It runs in your browser and sends nothing anywhere.
1. Your utilisation
Put in each card's balance and its limit. The number that matters to a lender is usually the total across every card, but a single maxed card can hurt on its own, so both are shown.
| Card | Balance | Limit | Used |

2. The date that actually counts
Most people pay by the due date and assume that is what gets reported. It usually is not. The lender reports your balance on the statement closing date — often two to three weeks earlier. Pay in full every month and you can still show 80% utilisation, because the photograph was taken before you paid.
Find the closing date on any statement, or in your card's app under statements. Write it down for each card — it rarely changes, and it is the single most useful thing to know about a card you already have.
3. Pull your reports first, free
In the United States, annualcreditreport.com is the only federally authorised source, and it is free. Check what is actually on the report before paying anyone to fix it. Most of what people pay to have removed is either accurate, or removable by writing one letter yourself.
