Free scam talk kit
Print it, share it, run the talk. Help your family or group pause a worrying call before money leaves the account.
For senior centers, libraries, churches, credit unions, councils on aging and adult children. Every piece is free, with no sign-up. Read on screen or print on US Letter paper. Use your browser’s Print menu and turn off its headers and footers.
Choose your materials
- Our family’s scam rules: one fridge sheet, a blank code-word line and space for three trusted numbers.
- Code-word wallet cards: four cut-out cards on one sheet. Fill them in privately.
- Spot the scam: ten-slide talk: speaker notes, five fictional quiz messages and answers on the next slide.
- Attendee handout: one page of rules, a free message checker and official reporting routes.
- Reglas de nuestra familia contra las estafas: the fridge sheet in Spanish.
- Guía para llevar a casa: the attendee handout in Spanish.
Run it with your group
Print a handout for each person. Read the talk’s speaker notes first. Ask people to pause at each quiz before showing the answer. Let them practice hanging up and calling a trusted number. Never ask anyone to say their private code word, account details or losses to the room.
Choose a code word together later, in private. A code word is an extra check; still hang up and call your relative on a saved number. Keep completed sheets inside the home, away from visitors, and out of shared photos.
Want us to run it for your group? Call (561) 375-2995 or use odilelabs.com/contact.
Read the scam-call guides or check a suspicious message free. The checker is a second opinion, not proof that a message is safe.
